The graphite is a material obtained by the compression and the rolling of the natural graphites without any introduction of bonding or impregnating materials.
CMD chooses the expanded graphite buying it from the best intemational producers obtaining very high reliable products, with very high chemical and physical properties:

- Thermal resistance in a very large temperature range, from the lowest till +550°C (in oxidant environments) or +3000°C (in non-oxidant environments).
- They also offer high resistance to sudden thermal changes; very good thermal conductivity and heat dispersion.

- Lowest friction factor, as it's a self-lubricating produce that prevent the moving parts from wear.
- High resistance to ageing that reducing equipment maintenance and plant stop times.
- Complete combustion resistance that guarantees the security in plants with high fire risk.
- Complete compatibility with chemical and food applications.

Thanks to all above, CMD products can satisfy every seal demand, either static or dynamic, with high temperatures and pressures and in corrosive environments, allowing the relative sliding between the matched surfaces.
